Lorraine Brady Ball, 81, of Star, Idaho passed away on April 25, 2024 at 6:02 pm at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah. She was born to Elbert and Lora Brady on June 27, 1942 in Durango, Colorado. She spent her cheerful teenage years in Boise, Idaho. After graduating from Boise High School in 1960, she met her sweetheart. On February 14, 1961 Lorraine was married and sealed to the love of her life, Ralph Lloyd Ball in the Salt Lake City Temple. They went on to have nine beloved children. She was a devoted wife and mother, regularly engaging in fun and spiritual family activities. After her children were grown, Lorraine mentored youth and taught as a school teacher for nearly 30 years, during which time she was also awarded the distinguished honor of Idaho Mother of the Year. She was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, always serving with enthusiasm and boundless love. She somehow made time to make everyone around her feel special, and always created opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Lorraine is survived by 54 great grandchildren; 47 grandchildren; and 8 living children: Lori Jacobson, Michelle Smidt, Sherene Smidt, Jason Ball, Carisa Karren, Ryan Ball, Troy Ball and Tawni Thompson; as well as her siblings: Leroy Brady, Boyd Brady, Carolyn Brady and Marilyn Wood. She was preceded in death by one child, David, and her husband Ralph. Lorraine leaves a legacy of infinite love and great faith. She lived her life as a disciple of Jesus Christ, generously giving countless moments of each day to serve others. She shared generously the fruits of her labors from baking, cooking, sewing, quilting, singing, gardening, hairdressing, storytelling, floral arranging, pranking friends and family, and most of all, being a compassionate source of devotion and love. Funeral services are scheduled for May 6, 2024 with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am and the service starting at 12 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 484 S Main Street, Star Idaho 83669.
