Julie Ann Rosdahl was born in Nampa, Idaho on August 10th, 1949 to Floyd and Josie Rosdahl. She grew up in the North Nampa area, helping on the farm, along with her three sisters and one brother. She attended Vallivue High School and Boise State University. She met Clayton Klinginsmith of Parma when they both worked at Fleetwood Homes (Kitt Manufacturing). One evening at the Terrace Drive-in (they had gone to see the movies Legend of Hillbilly John & The Avengers) he pulled out a ring and put it on her finger. They were married at the Nampa First Ward on 11th Ave in Nampa on Clay’s birthday, so he wouldn’t ever forget their anniversary, November 21st, 1974. The following year their daughter Angie was born in September, with their son Clayne following in July of 1977.They lived their entire married life in a farmhouse along the Boise river, making due however they needed to. Clay and Julie were both resourceful, they picked fruit for canning, salvaged old wood structures that could be re-used for animal shelters and if any tree ever fell over, they were right there to cut it up for winter heat. Clay and Julie belonged to multiple organizations over the years, such as The Coast Guard Auxiliary, Idaho Bird Breeders Assoc., Mopar’s of Idaho, The Elks, and leaders in the Boy Scouts. They enjoyed volunteering at the IYR thrift stores, at the church orchard, assisting at various Elks events and helping wherever needed. They were motorcycle riders throughout the years and loved to go on long rides. They also had various collector cars that they would take to car shows and Clay did a little drag racing out at Firebird. They also loved antique stores, the Sumpter flea market, and thrifting. Julie would spend hours and hours reading newspapers and magazines to cut out articles and pictures that she liked, especially of old barns and outhouses. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Both struggled with deteriorating health and Clay passed away first, at home with his family by his side in January 2021. At his request, he did not have a funeral service, but instead, he was cremated and will be laid to rest with Julie at her graveside service. Julie’s health began declining around the time Clay passed away and she made the decision that she didn’t want medical intervention, as she was ready to meet her Heavenly Father. She died with both of her children by her side on Friday, May 24th, 2024.Julie is survived by her two children, Angie Klinginsmith and Clayne Klinginsmith, married to Savannah. She had two grandchildren, Kade and Tessa Klinginsmith. Her sisters: Judy (Jan) Huskey, Shirley Burrows, Dolly (Andy) Hutchison and brother Roger (Ronda) Rosdahl. She also had a few special people in her life, her cousin Lucille Barnhill, her nieces Lulu and Ruby Rosdahl and best friend, Angie Smith.A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 4th at 10am at Canyon Hill Cemetery.
