Clara 'Louise’ Everton, affectionately known as Weezy, passed away on June 16, 2024, in her hometown of Meridian, Idaho. Born to Angus and Clementina Hill on February 25, 1948, in Meridian, and was raised with her siblings Barbara, Angus, & Linda on the Hillsdale Farm. On May 1, 1971, she married Wendell Everton in Elko, NV while on a mattress delivery. They made their home in Nampa, ID where they raised “us kids”. After graduating from Meridian High School, she then went on to hold many jobs. She worked for the Idaho State School & Hospital, Department of Health & Welfare. She spent years raising her three children while assisting Wendell with errands for Everton Mattress Factory while working in the wood shop at home making headboards, bunk beds, and more. She bought U-Save Auto Rental and continued to work side by side with Wendell at the factory. She eventually went to work full time at the factory until their retirement. She then went on to do merchandising and met wonderful friends. Some of Mom’s greatest times were spent at the “Lot” in Donnelly with family and friends. And then at the Cabin in Crouch. She took great joy in always having a place for everyone to gather, whether it was at her home or in the mountains. The coffee pot was always on, and her door was always open. At mealtimes growing up we could expect to have more than the five of us at the table. During holiday meals she would always ask how many “orphans” she needed to set the table for. Everyone could always count on Weezy for a “Hot Meal”. Mom never met a stranger. If you made it to the status of “friend” you were friends for life.Mom was always up for a cup of coffee and/or a card game. Many people will miss those times with her. Many counted on her openness to be a shoulder to cry on, and ear to listen. We all know that laughter through tears was her favorite emotion. She was an excellent cook with some of the crowd favorites being Weezy’s Potato Salad, Gooey Potatoes, Pot Roast, Crummy Apple Pie, and Baked Beans.Mom and Dad’s constant companion Sadie (the Weenie Dog) followed Mom only hours after her passing. Sadie was known as the “Lil old Lady” of the family. Louise is survived by her daughters, Amy (Dave) Kohler and Jody Everton, son John Everton; grandson, Landin Lamar Everton; step grandson’s Tyson (Stephanie Smith) Kohler, Clay Kohler, Trent (Kesley) Kohler; 4 step great granddaughters and 1 step great grand grandson.
