Toni Stringam

Toni Dianne Stringam (Goodrich), 82, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024, in Nampa, Idaho. Born on May 22, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Rae and Ruth Goodrich, Toni was the eldest and only daughter among seven children. Toni grew up in Tridell, Utah, and attended high school in Roosevelt. She later studied stenography at Brigham Young University (BYU). On August 31, 1961, Toni married Gary Rice Stringam in the Salt Lake Temple, beginning a love story that would span over six decades. Their romance blossomed when their bishop asked Gary to sing a hymn and Toni to accompany him on the piano in their BYU Single Adult Ward. Toni's life was characterized by her devotion to her faith and family. Toni was an amazing example of love, service and a firm believer in her Savior Jesus Christ. She was confident in knowing that her family is eternal and wanted others to have that same blessing. Toni and Gary’s love for the Savior led them to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Manchester, England. Music was central to Toni's life. Regardless of other church responsibilities Toni was always the ward or stake organist and she loved it. She began teaching piano lessons as a teenager and touched hundreds of lives over her 60-year career. She instilled a love and appreciation for great music in her own children. Toni's talent and passion for music touched countless lives and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Toni is survived by her husband, Gary R. Stringam; seven children and their spouses: Verl (Georgeanna), Stan (Yvonne), Scott (Camille), Dana (Autumn), Gina (Randall), Sherri (Nathan), and Alisa (Royal); 26 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rae and Ruth Goodrich, and her brother Randy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 927 Ruth Lane, Nampa, ID. A viewing will take place in the Relief Society room from 10 am followed by the service at 11am. Internment will follow at the Melba Cemetery. Toni's legacy of love, faith, and music will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, talent, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith.
