Mary Curtis

Mary A. Nichols Curtis, 89, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, in a Boise hospital of natural causes. A graveside service will be held at Melba Cemetery at 10 a.m. on August 10, 2024.  Mary was the second child born to John and Treva Farner in Nampa, Idaho, on June 14, 1935. She attended Melba Schools and graduated from Greenleaf Friends Academy in 1953. She married Lauren B. Nichols on July 21, 1953. Together, they had four children. Lauren died in an automobile accident on May 3, 1969. She married John Curtis in November of 1969.  Mary was a loving mother, a devoted and loving grandmother, and an excellent cook. She enjoyed playing the piano and attending church. She loved life, and she loved God. She is survived by three children: Pam (Ron) Ferguson of Winchester, Indiana; Lynn (Linda) Nichols of Roswell, Idaho; Linda Nichols (Robert Loeppky) of Morden, Manitoba, Canada; two stepchildren, Banky (Linda) Curtis of Woodburn, OR; Martin (Kathy) Curtis of Forestville, CA; Barbara Curtis, Portland, OR; two siblings, Joy McIndoo Maneck (Fred) of Bishop, CA; and Richard (Sue) Farner of Melba, ID; five grandchildren, Lee (Amy) Nichols, Lance (Rachel) Nichols, Alex Loeppky, Kelby Loeppky van Rosmalen (Jeff), Annaliese Loeppky; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Frances Engle, her two husbands, Lauren Nichols and John Curtis, her daughter Brenda Nichols, and her stepson, Gary Curtis.
