Harold Columbus Mason, 92, passed away on August 2, 2024. Harold was born in Havana, Kansas to Estelle and Harold Mason on February 5, 1932. His dad passed away when he was a young boy and was raised by his mom and step day Roy Mason. He had a brother (Paul) and a sister (Lucille) who preceded him in death. When he was 5 years old, his family moved to Idaho, where Harold attended Meridian High School. During his junior year, he enlisted in the Coast Guard and served for 3 years as a Petty Officer Third Class. After his time in the service, he worked in the autobody industry for over 40 years, including his time owning and operating Mace’s Autobody and Paint in Nampa, Idaho.In 1961, Harold met his wife Beverly, and last month they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Harold was a proud father to his four children: Pam (Curt) Allen; Chad (Holly) Mason; Lisa Postlewait; and Hal Mason. He was a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren (Jeff, Ryan, Tyler, Lindsey, Trevor, and Cody) and proudly wore the title of Poppi to his 13 great-grandchildren (and another one on the way). Harold’s primary focus was always his family, and they will remember his guidance, support, encouragement, and unconditional love forever.Harold was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, riding snowmobiles, and four-wheelers. He enjoyed cheering on the Boise State Broncos and attended many games over the years. He created countless memories with family and friends at their cabin in Idaho City and could be found telling old stories that made everyone laugh. He was loved and cherished by many and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday August 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1500 Smith Ave Nampa, Idaho and his final resting place will be in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery
