Walter Leroy Scott, 62, of Nampa, Idaho, left his earth on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. Walt was born May 15th, 1962, in Nampa, Idaho, to Garland Leroy Scott and Vivian Ruth Timmons. He was the third-born and first son of six siblings. He grew up moving around Idaho, Washington, and Oregon as his dad worked construction on bridges and dams in the region. His family settled in Idaho, where Walt graduated with the class of 1980 at Nampa Senior High School. While attending Nampa High, he participated in many activities, such as rodeo club, woodshop, and automotive class. In high school, Walt and his brother Russ both worked together at the Department of Interior—Conservation and made many fond memories together.Walt was a tough yet kind and funny young man who loved his friends, rodeo and the farming lifestyle in his early years. He met his love Angela (Taylor) Scott in 1985, and they got married May 16th, 1987, in Winnemucca, Nevada. Shortly after, they welcomed their firstborn daughter Laura (1988) and their son Casey (1992) to the world. He loved attending, coaching, and being involved in his kid’s sports and activities. He enjoyed going on family vacations and camping trips with family and friends over the years. He took his passion for farming and acquired some land in Melba that the family worked for some time; it was there also that he continued his passion for building his collection of older vehicles. For years, Walt worked at Selkirk up until he and Angela divorced. He then ventured to North Dakota, where he was a diesel mechanic for a few years and made many new friends. He traveled up North to Juneau, Alaska, to be a tour guide/shuttle bus driver. While there for a few seasons, he loved seeing the area, meeting and making more friends, and finding more vehicles to add to his collection.Walt, or "Wally," as some friends may say, was a genuine, kind friend to many. He was the guy that would do anything for anybody without question and was always there in times of need. He always provided a helping hand. Nothing made him happier than the different adventures he went on with each and every one of his family or friends, and there was always a good story to go with it.After Walt moved back to Idaho, he and Angela rekindled their relationship and became grandparents for the first time. He was elated to be titled Grandpa, and he always enjoyed seeing his grandkids and attending their activities. He continued his pursuit to restore vehicles and went on many more journeys until his illness. He holds a special place in all our hearts and the hearts of others.Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Vivian. He is survived by his love Angela; his daughter Laura of Nampa; his son Casey (Emily) of Boise; his four beloved grandchildren: Bennett, Mason, Mabel, and Hudson; his siblings: Candy, Penny, Russ, Connie, and Jeff; his mother-in-law Sue; his aunt Arlene; and numerous cousins.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 9th, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa.
