On September 11, 2024, Debbie Lough passed away peacefully at home.Debbie Lee Bunn was born on June 5, 1953, in Nyssa, Oregon, to Kent Poulsen Bunn and Fredrie Fife Bunn. The family lived in Nyssa for only a few months before moving to Boise, Idaho, where Debbie remained until she was married.Debbie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and kept busy with church activities. One of her proudest achievements during her teenage years was her graduation from four years of early morning seminary.It was during her first year of seminary that she met her future husband, Jim Lough. They dated in high school, but when Jim graduated a year ahead of her and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, they went their separate ways for a time. After graduating high school, Debbie attended Boise State College, where she enjoyed meeting new people, dating, attending institute, and participating in social activities. On March 30, 1972, Jim and Debbie were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They moved to Beaufort, South Carolina, where Jim was stationed.Nearly a year after their first child, Christy, was born, the family moved back to Boise. Debbie was eight months pregnant with their second child, Adam, at the time. Two years later, they welcomed their third and final child, Benjamin. Her children were the joy of her life, and Debbie was fortunate enough to stay home with them while they were growing up.Once Adam and Ben were in high school, Debbie worked as a LDS seminary secretary. She later decided to go back to school, attending ITT Technical Institute to study bookkeeping and accounting. After her children moved out, she worked for several accounting firms, where she built lasting relationships with her colleagues and clients. After more than 20 years, she retired due to complications from Parkinson’s disease.Debbie devoted herself to serving in her church, fulfilling numerous callings, with a special love for working in the Cub Scouts. No matter where she served, she magnified her calling, served diligently, and gave her best effort.Debbie was preceded in death by her loving parents, Kent and Fredrie Bunn, and her granddaughter, Lexis Lough.She is survived by her husband and sweetheart of 52 years, Jim Lough; her three children: Christy Smith (Jeffery) of Nampa, Idaho; Adam Lough (Malinda) of Highland, Utah; and Ben Lough of Champaign, Illinois; her three brothers: Scott Bunn (Robin) of Boise, Idaho; Philip Bunn of Boise, Idaho; and David Bunn, also of Boise, Idaho; 11 grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and her first great-grandson on the way.
