Roberta, (Bobbie to those who loved her), was born on October 21, 1944, to Robert 'Bob' Martin and his wife Cherokee Joyce (Benge) Martin in Astoria, Oregon. Shortly thereafter they moved to Enid, Oklahoma. During this time, Bobbie became the oldest daughter of their family, adding 2 younger sisters. In December 1963, Bobbie married Don Randolph and embarked on an amazing journey lasting 61 years! They began their marriage in Oklahoma and shortly after moved to Fresno, California. They were blessed with two sons Steve (59) and Ernie (51). They eventually ended up in Nampa, Idaho in 1998. Don and Bobbie were nothing less than true to their marriage vows - "To love, honor and cherish" - they did not ever falter! They WERE "Two peas in a pod". They opened and ran several successful businesses - they spent their days and evenings together for 61 years and enjoyed all that life afforded them. Pride does not come close to encompassing how they felt about the accomplishments they shared together in life. While their road of 61 years had their challenges, Bobbie embodied grace, determination, devotion, and respect - she carried on regardless of circumstances. She was proud of her Native American heritage, and often spoke of how it made her resilient and strong. Bobbie's pride and joy were her children and grandchildren; she never met a stranger and was known to hug and kiss anyone who was a friend to her. Bobbie had a kindness that will certainly be missed in this world. While Alzheimer's may have affected her memory, it was an undetected cancer that overwhelmed her body. She is at peace now, as she is clear-minded and cancer free. Bobbie, with her absolute devotion to her Christian faith, is on a new and never-ending journey in Heaven. We are certain she has reunited with friends and loved ones that have previously traveled this path ahead of her.If you feel inclined to donate in Bobbie's memory, we would be delighted if you would please consider the Alzheimer's Association: 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601. We pray that a cure is found on this side of eternity for future loved ones who touch our hearts daily - as we support those facing this devastating disease. In honor of Bobbie and the kindness she shared with the world, please hug your loved ones, smile at someone you don't know and take a moment to enjoy all that God has blessed you with.
