Dennis Leo Sievers(December 18, 1944 to October 14, 2024)Our loving husband and father, Dennis Leo Sievers, died on Monday, October 14, 2024, due to complications with Alzheimer’s disease.Dennis was born on December 18, 1944, in Ogden, Utah, to Arthur Leo and Elma Lois (Gibby) Sievers. He grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in May 1963. He joined the naval reserves in 1961 and was active duty from June 1963 to November 1966. He finished up in the reserves on November 8, 1968.Dennis married Terry Margaret Harris on August 18, 1967, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS temple on August 24, 1970. They had four children—Michelle, Russ, Cheri, and Alan. He was an office machine repairman and was an Idaho Falls Firefighter from January, 1971 until he retired January, 1994. After he retired, he worked various part-time jobs. In 2007, after selling their Idaho Falls home, Dennis and Terry traveled for 6 years until they bought a house next door to their daughter, Michelle, in Nampa, Idaho.Dennis was an avid outdoor "junkie." He spent all the time he could in the mountains, which was his favorite place to be—especially with his family. Our best memories of him are camping, hunting, and fishing with him from early spring to late fall. His kids, nieces, nephews, and granddaughters cherished memories with him in the mountains and learned so much from him. He was their best supporter and teacher when it came to the outdoors.Dennis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Terry; brothers—Kent Sievers, Roy Sievers; children—Michelle (Ben) Jenkins, Russ (Cindy) Sievers, Cheri Reynolds, and Alan (Krista) Sievers. He is also survived by 8 granddaughters and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ellis, and a son-in-law, Lynn Reynolds.Services will be held on Friday, October 18, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa, Idaho. Friends and family are welcome to the viewing at 10 AM, and the funeral is at 11 AM. Interment will be at a later day at Idaho Veteran’s Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
