JoAnn Scott, 80, of Nampa, Idaho passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020. JoAnn was born August 17, 1939 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Delbert Park and Martha (Hammon) Park. She was their third and last child. She grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She married Ralston William Scott on May 27, 1959 in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When first married they lived in Idaho Falls where they had both been raised and where most of their extended families resided. They lived there until 1963. Their first two children, Katherine and Ralston Jr. (JR) were both born there. Afterward they moved to Pocatello for a short time, and then in 1965 they settled in Nampa, Idaho where their last two children, Richard and Randy were born. Nampa was to become their home, where they developed special lifelong friendships with other families and where they lived for the rest of their lives. Both JoAnn and Ralston had strong testimonies and determined to do their best to raise their children in the Gospel. Their examples and willingness to dedicate their lives to living and serving in the Church were a blessing in both theirs and their children's lives. They each loved the outdoors; camping, fishing, hunting, boating and exploring nature became an integral part of their family life.JoAnn was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was first priority for her and she did her very best to raise her four children to be good people, to be honest and kind, to be responsible, to love the Lord. She was tenderhearted with a kind, compassionate nature. As a mother she had high standards, but she was also patient and fun-loving. She always made time for enjoying life and for appreciating simple pleasures. The gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was of great importance to her. It served as a foundation and mainstay for her and her family and throughout her entire life she tried to live by its precepts. Even through difficult health problems in the last years of her life she remained optimistic, happy, quick to laugh and always thankful. She continued to find joy in simple things. And she loved, as she had her entire life, deeply. Her relationships with her family, her husband, her children and grandchildren were what she most treasured. How greatly she will be missed by those who know and love her.She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Martha Hammon Park; husband, Ralston William Scott; son, Ralston William Scott Jr; sister, Mona Sherwood; and brother, Robert Park.
