Dale George Lee

Dale George Lee passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Nampa, ID. He was born April 1, 1928 in Garland, Utah to Thomas William and Eva Amanda James Lee, the sixth of seven children. His mother died when he was four and when he was nine, his father married Golda Acord, the mother Dale remembered. Dale lived in Lincoln, ID, Midvale, UT and Toppenish, WA where he graduated from high school in 1946. That June, he enlisted in the Navy with seven buddies. Although he served in the Navy he never served on a ship. In a Sunday School class in Toppenish, Dale met Nona Jorgensen and they married on October 10, 1947 and were sealed in the Logan Utah LDS Temple the next June. Dale and Nona moved to Logan where he attended Utah State University and where Gayla and Roger, were born. Before graduating, the Boeing Company came recruiting and hired Dale as a draftsman for their Commercial Airplane Division. They moved to Seattle, WA and later settled in Edmonds, WA. Tanya, Reatha and Layne (the three little kids) joined the family. Over the next 20 years, they raised their children. They were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Dale served faithfully in many church callings including serving as a home teacher, stake missionary and in bishoprics. One of his favorite callings was ward financial clerk. At the time of his passing he was a member of the Nampa 18th Ward where he served as the financial clerk for the past 15 years. In January of 1978, Nona died of cancer. After 30 years of a happy marriage and the companionship of his wife, Dale was lonely. A long-time family friend introduced Dale to her sister, Naomi Riggin Rudd. After a short courtship they were married in February of 1979. Naomi had two grown daughters, April and Jackie, which Dale treated as his own. Dale and Naomi settled in Snohomish, WA where they enjoyed almost 10 years together. Early retirement was in store for Dale, and at age 58 his long-standing career of tool engineer came to an end as he left the Boeing Company after 35 years of service to care for Naomi. Dale's second marriage ended in 1988 when Naomi died of cancer, as had Nona. Dale again left alone and lonely, searched for a third companion. He and Annadean Odd went on their first date to the Puyallup, Washington State Fair in September of 1989 and were married two months later on November 11. Annadean's grown sons, Steve and Randy joined Dale's family with the same acceptance from Dale as Naomi's daughters received. In 1997, Dale and Annadean moved to Nampa, ID where Dale's youngest son, Layne and his family lived. They enjoyed retirement in Idaho and often hosted friends and family from the northwest. Dale is survived by his wife, Annadean; his children: Gayla (Dwight) Stewart of Everett, WA, Roger (Joyce) Lee of Edmonds, WA, Tanya (Dale) Davis of Marysville, WA, Reatha Lee of Nampa, Layne (Dorri) Lee of Nampa, April (Mike) Dever of Bainbridge Island, WA, Jackie (Dan) Foote of Salt Lake City, UT, Steve (Wanda) Odd of Rainier, WA and Randy (Maxine) Odd of Richland, WA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his sister Joyce Jenkins of West Jordan, UT. The family appreciated the kind and compassionate care that Dale received at Kindred Nampa Care Center.
