Maria Emilia Campos

Maria Emilia Campos was born July 29, 1927, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, to parents Juan Campos and Micaela Olvera Campos. Emilia passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, at her home in Nampa. Emilia grew up in Mexico along with her brothers Jose and Jesus and sisters Elena and Maria. She would often recount stories of her working as a nurse after completing her education while in Mexico. In 1957 she immigrated to the United States. Emilia worked in Texas until 1960. Over the next ten years, she migrated between Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Idaho working in the fields with her son, Jose, until 1970. It was then that she decided to make a permanent home in Idaho, with her first home in Wilder. She proudly worked in the Simplot potato processing plant in Caldwell. She eventually moved to Caldwell while she continued to work at Simplot until she was able to retire after over 25 years of faithful service on the processing lines. She spoke often and fondly of her time and friendships there. Shortly after retirement she moved to Nampa to live beside her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. In 1993, she proudly became a U.S. citizen. She lived her last 20 years happily beside her family in the house her son built for her. Emilia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters; and brother Jose. She is survived by her brother Jesus; son Jose (Jeanne) Campos; grandchildren Tepe, Tona, and Xochi; and her great-granddaughter Teya; nephews: Mundo, Raul, Chuy, and Alfredo and nieces Veronica and Rosita and their families. Her ever loving and hard working spirit will be truly missed. There will be a Rosary at 7 p.m., Friday, October 21, at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa. 467-7300 Condolences may be expressed at zeyerfuneralchapel.com.
