Ora Ludean Amundsen Christensen

Ora Ludean Amundsen Christensen, 89, formerly of Meridian, Idaho, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 in a Las Vegas, Nevada, care center. Ora was born, December 3, 1925 in Fairview, Utah, youngest daughter of Oscar L. and Hettie Petersen Amundsen. Ora spent her school years in Fairview, Utah, a place she always called home. On December 22, 1944 she married Reuben Junior Christensen in Fairview. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Utah LDS Temple. R.J. (Chris) passed away on January 31, 2010. Ora was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After Chris received his Pharmacy Degree from Idaho State University, School of Pharmacy, the couple moved to Salina, Utah and then to Moscow, Idaho where they lived for 35 years. During those years, Ora worked as a bookkeeper for several local automobile dealers. She found her true vocation when she became an administrative assistant at the LDS Institute of Religion on the University of Idaho campus in 1975. In 1983 she transferred to LDS Church Education System headquarters in Salt Lake City and then in 1985 to the LDS Institute of Religion on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus where she was the administrative assistant for the Nevada CES Area office. She retired in 1993. In 2005 Chris and Ora moved to Meridian, Idaho. Recently, ill health required her move to Henderson, Nevada where she resided until her passing. Ora was preceded in death by her mother and father; all of her brothers and sisters; her husband Reuben Junior; her son John (Becky), and her great-grandson Joshua Wilhite. She is survived by her daughter Ruth (Larry) Allred of Henderson, Nevada and son Stephen (Linda) of Boise, Idaho; nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the LDS Chapel, 6032 North Five Mile Road, Boise, ID 83713 with a viewing at the Church at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be following the service at Cloverdale Memorial Park in Boise. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300.
