Robert (Bob) Joseph Hayden, 88, of Nampa, passed away at his home on Monday, June 23, 2014. Bob was born in Crete, Nebraska. He served in the Navy Reserves, after which he attended Oklahoma University obtaining a B.S. Majoring in Chemistry. He worked as a chemist for Dow Chemical for 30 years in Freeport, Texas. After retiring he attended the University of Houston obtaining a BFA majoring in ceramics. He went on to have a successful pottery business, "Feats of Clay". He and his wife traveled the U.S. selling his art work. After his 2nd grandson was born, he and Carol relocated to Idaho. He enjoyed many avocations in his lifetime. Bob is survived by his wife of 70 years Carol Jean; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine (Bruce) Reed of Houston, TX (granddaughter Taylor) and Jeannie (Ernie) Dunlap of Nampa (grandsons Ernest and Douglas). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to St. Al's Hospice, 199 W Black Eagle Dr, Boise, ID 83709.
