Max Leon Allen

Max Leon Allen, 91, of Nampa passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Idaho State Veterans Hospital in Boise, Idaho. Max was born on May 3, 1925 in Moab, Utah to Hyrum and Marry Ellen Allen. He was the fourth of four children. He attended school in Moab, Utah. He enlisted in the Navy on February 16, 1943 and served in WWII. Max is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maris Jean; his children: Max Dee (Janeen) Allen, Sherrie Melano, Debra (Wayne) Poulson, Janise (John) Wasiloff, Tammie (Vaughn) Hauger, Steve Batchelder, and Chris (Ann) Allen; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was be greeted in heaven by several family member that have passed on before him. Max worked in the upholstery business. He also sold satellites to the Navajo Indians in Bluff, Utah. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, hunting and making walking sticks. He loved volunteering at the VA and did so for 14 years. He and Maris also enjoyed working at the Boise LDS Temple. Max was loved by many and touched the lives of everyone he met. He could always bring a smile with his stories and sense of humor.
