Born June 15, 1924 to Gertie & George Dossett in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, peacefully passed away on August 31, 2016 with his family at his side. Jim was one of nine children and has remained close to all of his siblings throughout his life. Jim attended an opera in person when he was 17 years old. He didn't understand a word being sung, but it brought him to tears. Jim could never describe the feeling but knew it was something very powerful. It left an impression on him! Military Service called to Jim at the age of 17 and with his father's blessing served for four years in the Navy from 1941 - 1945. He served on three ships while in the Navy, but loved the Randolph the best! It was on that ship that a Kamikaze pilot missed by two inches the gas tanks that were behind him - he was the gunner on the deck of the ship at that time. We were thankful for that miss! Jim owned and operated Jim's Auto Upholstery in Nampa, Idaho from 1959 until 1990 and was well known around the valley for his great work. He taught his children the trade and they worked in his shop on and off for years. Jim is survived by - Two daughters: Cheryl (Dan) Hinman and Janet (Cheri Gavin) Dossett and a son he never had, nephew Bob Dossett Siblings: Dan (Bonnie) Dossett, Lloyd Dossett, Laura Wallace, Carolyn Allen, and Dorothy Ernest Grandchildren: Casey Dossett, Kody Dossett, Hank Dossett, Robbie Bean, and Rodney Bean Numerous nieces and nephews.
