Alice Lenore Riches Hull passed away on August 12, 2015 at the age of 93. She was born April 11, 1922 in Smithfield, Utah to Emma Jane and George Washington Riches, the second of four children. She attended schools in Utah, graduating from North Cache High School in Richmond, Utah and the LDS Business College in SLC, Utah. During World War II Alice worked for the U.S. Army of Engineers. She then commenced work as a secretary for Beneficial Life in Salt Lake City for 10 years, moved on to Texaco Oil, Tidewater Oil and retiring from Getty Oil, in 1980 when she married John Edward Hull and moved to Caldwell. During her working years, Alice loved to travel, visiting Canada, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Portugal and Mexico, plus many U.S. destinations. After her marriage to John, they loved to travel together, going to Spain, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and many national parks. Grandma Alice was loved and a blessed member of John's family for 35 years. She liked to sew, crochet, and embroidery, but our family favorite was her box of elegant candy that she made for each of us every Christmas holiday. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. She especially loved being the "mother of the ward" while her husband John served as bishop. Alice is survived by her two sisters, June Blackford of Los Angeles, CA; Marjorie Gunn of SLC, Utah and a sister-in-law Clo Dean Riches of Smithfield, UT; three nieces, Nancy Senter and Kathy Buchler of Los Angeles, CA; Marla (Kim) Parker of Smithfield, UT; a nephew, Alan Riches (Ruth) of Logan, UT plus five great nieces and nephews.
