Long time Moses Lake resident and artist, Valine B. Savage passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Nampa, Idaho at the age of 94. Valine was born in Heyburn, Idaho on March 22, 1922 to Milton and Lydia Bair, the third child and oldest daughter of eight children. Growing up in this rural community she learned a hard work ethic and the importance of meeting life's challenges head on. She married Arthur Henry Hansen in the Logan Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1941. Arthur was killed in a farm accident in 1950, leaving her a widow with four small children. Two years later she married Erwin (Red) Savage, a widower with two children of his own...they added two more children...making a "his, hers and ours" family that was all ours. Red passed away in 1970, leaving her a widow with two children still at home. Valine was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and leaves behind a great legacy of service and faith in Jesus Christ Valine was a creative person. She enjoyed painting, quilting, gardening, reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Many in the Moses Lake and surrounding areas received art lessons from her. Valine had a quick wit and sense of humor that endeared her to all she met. Valine is leaving behind a posterity of over 200 including her children: Veral Hansen (Michael Jean), Mattawa, WA, Wanda Hansen Green (Lanny),Meridian, ID, Sharon Bushman Brown (Joel), Caldwell, ID, Mary Ann Hansen Hebdon (Dennis), Mattawa, WA, Beth Savage (Deceased) and Lee Savage (Gloria) Moses Lake, WA. A funeral service will be held for Valine in Nampa, Idaho. She will be laid to rest next to Arthur at the Riverside Cemetery at Heyburn, Idaho.
