Betty Tatem, 94, passed away Sept 18, 2016, at her home. Betty was born December 28, 1921 in Kearney, Nebraska to Frankie and Joseph Pool. She married the love of her life Clifford Tatem on June 7, 1940 and eventually moved to Meridian, Idaho. They loved their small homestead and they lived there together until Clifford passed away Jan 15, 1998. Betty remained on their homestead until her death. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Clifford; her parents Frankie and Joseph; and her brothers Dale and Keith. She is survived by her brother Donnie (Delores) Pool in Overton, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews. Betty had a passion for painting and produced hundreds of beautiful landscapes in her "little" studio. She touched the hearts of many with her paintings. As a young lady, Betty was known for her musical talent with the steel guitar, banjo, harmonica and accordion. She enjoyed sharing this talent with people over the years. Betty loved the outdoors, all animals, and unconditionally her pets. Her love of animals was matched only by her keen intelligence, wicked sense of humor, and empathy and kindness she showed to all who knew her. Betty would like to thank the many neighbors and friends that assisted her and blessed her life over the years and especially in providing the day to day care needed the last few weeks of her life. A graveside service for Betty will be held at the Meridian Cemetery on Sept 21, 2016 at 3 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa, 467-7300.
