Fern Evonne Tucker

Fern Evonne Tucker,93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday the 25 of February at her home in Marsing, Idaho. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles James and Ebba Rachel Tuckfield on November 13, 1921. After growing up in Salt Lake City she met Ranulph (Ranny) Tucker at a local roller skating rink. Ranny joined the service and they married in Camp Campbell, Kentucky on February 27, 1943. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their marriage was solemnized in the LDS Temple on February 27, 1964. She is survived by her children Stephen Tucker (Cathy) and Connie Stahle (Van); 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Fern was preceded in death by her parents and all of her ancestors back to Adam (Fern was an avid genealogist); her husband Ranny; brother Lyle Tuckfield; daughter Charlene Hemry, and two grandchildren Heidi and Ryan Fugal. Fern liked adventures. She like exploring places that she would normally have no reason to go, and trying new things that most folks would not. She had a wonderful sense of humor that her children often took for granted because "that was just mom," but she always said that it was instrumental in helping her get through life. She often gave the advice "never lose your sense of humor." Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 2 at the LDS Church at 9400 W. Floating Feather Road in Star. A viewing will be held at the church at 1:00 p.m. prior to the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300.
