Doris Kindall

Doris Lucy Obendorf Kindall, 96, our sweet Momma, Grandma, Gooma went home June 12, 2015 to be with Jesus and her loved ones. Doris was born in Roswell, Idaho November 19, 1918 to Paul and Clara Obendorf. Her years as a school girl in Roswell were filled with her interests in academics, sports and performing in school plays. She enjoyed school and took pride in her perfect attendance. Doris married Bennie Kindall, the love of her life, on January 3, 1942 in a little church in Parma, Idaho. During the 57 years of their marriage, Bennie and Doris farmed in Roswell and then lived in Caldwell and Middleton where they raised their three daughters. Doris was a wonderful homemaker--cooking, cleaning, canning and sewing for her family. It wasn't surprising to find her up in the wee hours, sewing a prom dress or cheerleading outfit for one of her girls. She was a shining example of Proverbs 31, wife and mother. She also was a dependable employee at Idaho First National Bank for 30 years, retiring in 1982. Her daughters credit her for their early love of God, by faithfully taking them to Sunday School and church. She was a member of Grace Lutheran and Oregon Trail Church of God both in Caldwell, Idaho. Doris had an adventurous side. She was always ready to go, which led to many fishing, hunting and camping trips with her kids and grandkids. The story goes that she always outshot and outfished Grandpa Bennie! In the later years of their marriage, Bennie and Doris enjoyed road trips in their motorhome, cruises and overseas travel. Her grandkids fondly remember many, many holidays, family celebrations and Sunday evenings at Grandmas. It made Doris very happy to have her entire family around her. Doris was an avid B.S.U. fan and also liked to watch Tiger Woods play golf on T.V. Doris is survived by her three daughters: DeAnna (Mark) Howard, Sandra (Jim) Martell and Paula (Jim) Adams; six grandchildren: Paige (Larry), Tawni (David), Jeff, Dusty (Nicki), Lacey (Ricardo) and Ashley; 13 great-grandchildren: Beau, Cameron (Kristina), Savannah (Blake), Brennan, Zeke, Ahijah, Darby, Kade, Benson, Isaiah, Brittany (Jesse), Logan and Makenna; three great-great-grandchildren: Adilynn, Landon and Kyrie. She was preceded in death by her husband Bennie; grandsons Jason Martell and Todd Goertzen; her parents Paul and Clara; brothers Genn and Wilson Lockridge and sister Irma Cox. The family wishes to thank the owners, administrators and caregivers at Family Life Memory Care for their tender care of our Momma "Miss Doris" during this past year. We also want to thank XL Hospice and staff for their support, compassion and friendship, not only at momma's Middleton home, but also at her Family Life Memory Care home. God's blessings to all of you.
