She and Carl enjoyed exploring Silver City, square dancing, and traveling the West with friends. She was a life-long hobbyist and, later in life, a founding member of Zion's group of quilters that would come together to sew thousands of quilts for those in need. Hilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; her daughter Myrna Stephen; her brother and sister-in-law Elmer and Viola Lenz; her brother and sister-in-law Norbert and Thelma Lenz, and sister Shirley Burback (Darrell). She is survived by her daughter Bernette Ronfeld and son Dale Ronfeld (Diana); five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
