Gwendolyn (Gwen) Lucile Bybee was born on October 1, 1915 in Boise, Idaho to Ephraim and Lucy (Elliott) Jensen. She rejoined her husband Burnell (Bud) Bybee who preceded her in death by 35 years on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 3:15 p.m. Her family is sure there was a joyous reunion with her parents and sister Bonnie (Jensen) McClellan and brother Dee Jensen and many other family members whom she outlived. Gwen was 99 at the time of her passing. She had been living in Ammon, Idaho with her granddaughter Nadene (Rick) Michaelson's family for the last seven and a half years of her life. Gwen loved Boise and lived there most of her life. She attended Longfellow Elementary School and Boise High School. She met Burnell Bybee in the late 1930's. After a long engagement they were married on December 5, 1941 in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. Two days after their marriage Pearl Harbor was bombed. Burnell drove to Salt Lake the next day and enlisted in the Navy. After Burnell was honorably discharged, they moved their family to Bountiful, Utah where they lived for seven years before returning to Boise. Gwen and Burnell were blessed with four wonderful children: Sandra, Lynn, Leann and Kim. Gwen loved her family which grew to include grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild. She was well known for her sewing abilities and was a dressmaker for many. Gwen also loved to crochet slippers and take care of her flowerbeds. She enjoyed riding her bike and continued to ride it until she was 92. The LDS church was a large part of Gwen's life. She served faithfully in many callings but her favorite was as a temple worker in the Boise Idaho LDS Temple where she served lovingly for 15 years. Gwen was always willing to help others. She was a great cook and had a fun sense of humor. She shared love, a smile and a hug with anyone and will be missed by many. Gwen is survived by her children Sandra (Jim) Petersen, Lynn Bybee, Leann Larsen and Kim Bybee along with her grandchildren; Bret (Sue) Petersen, Jason (Monica) Petersen, Aaron (Lisa) Petersen, Nathan (Anjeanette) Petersen, Daniel (Emily) Petersen, Donell (Katelyn) Petersen, Trina (Michael) Vickers, Nadene (Rick) Michaelson, Shane (Aimee) Larsen, Mandie (Aaron) Smith, Chad Bybee, Jennifer (Chance) Hammock and 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
