LaVar Ray Spencer, 81, of Nampa, Idaho died in his sleep on November 29th, 2021, at Lake Mead, Echo Bay, Nevada. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 6th, 2021, at 11:00 am at Nampa LDS Church, 88 S. Happy Valley Rd, Nampa. He was born the fourth of six children on April 27th, 1940 to Ray and Myrtle (Huffaker) Spencer in Woodruff, Utah. He joined his brother, Dean, and sisters, Donna and Vernetta, and was followed by brothers, Deuane and Neal. In 1947, the family started a farm north of Middleton. He graduated in 1958 from Middleton High School. In 1965 he married Mary Lynne Terry in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. He is survived by his wife of 56 years and six children, Dan (Lona) Spencer of Payette, Robb (Debra) Spencer of Caldwell, Keith (Tonya) Spencer of Caldwell, Nicole (Mike) Warren of Mt. Airy, NC, Paul (Mary Beth) Spencer of Layton, UT, and Mark Spencer of West Point, UT, eight grandchildren and two brothers, Deuane (Shigeko) Spencer, and Neal (Chris) Spencer. He was very involved in his church, cub scouts, and woodworking. He loved his many years of service in the Boise LDS Temple and his annual trip with his sons to the Bonneville Salt Flats.
