Ronald Charles 'Chic' Slutz, of Middleton, ID, died Saturday Aug. 25, 2018 at age 64, due to complications from his two-year struggle with kidney cancer. He was born in Amarillo, TX to Ralph and Carolyn Slutz on Aug. 18, 1954. He is survived by his wife Patricia; son Ben; daughter Sarah; mother Carolyn; brothers James and Joe; sister Sue; and their families, including a growing number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Ralph and stepfather Wayne. Chic was an accomplished engineer, a good neighbor, and an endearingly stubborn friend. He had strong senses of curiosity and adventure, traveling extensively across the US, spending time in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, all while making a home with his family in the Pacific Northwest. To all the folks who supported Chic during his life - please know that those relationships are what was most important to him. He will be celebrated with a Memorial BBQ at the house he built on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 4 p.m. and again with services in Vega, TX on Saturday, Sept. 8. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family suggests that volunteering be undertaken in local communities, especially if it requires rolling up one's sleeves and getting dirty.
