Turner Nathan Briner

Turner Nathan Briner (March 10, 2010 - October 26, 2022) Heaven gained a super angel when Turner Nathan Briner arrived on October 26, 2022. Born March 10, 2010, the joy and love packed into this 12-year-old boy was too much and too good for this world. And all who know Turner can attest to his super powers: Turner lived joyfully and loved fiercely. When Turner loved something, he really loved it. A passionate Mario fan, Turner knew every character and power-up ever made, and he had the shirts and halloween costumes and stuffies to prove it. His room looked like the aftermath of a Mario bomb explosion. His love for Pokeman and Sonic were tied for second place in the running and just as strong. He loved reading and making his own comic books, and he LOVED to eat, whether it was cold pizza for breakfast (with pineapple please!), "pizza noodles" (aka spaghetti), lasagna, or Chick-Fil-A ("the Snail"). And Turner loved the Boise State Broncos, singing the BSU fight song loud and proud since almost as soon as he could talk. He was a curious and adventurous guy. A 7th grader at Kuna Middle School, Turner loved learning and school, especially his engineering class, where they built "structures" of drinking straws. If there was a new thing to try, or an adventure to be had, he would be there, determined to keep up with the bigger kids and not to miss out on a thing. He was in for swimming, jumping on the trampoline, playing on the Wii and his Nintendo Switch, drawing (especially Mario pictures), or anything else his friends or family wanted to do. He was so excited to become a deacon and pass the sacrament, looking sharp in his shirt and tie and his handsome glasses. And he didn't let anything stop him from pursuing his adventures, not even his challenges with "lefty." He's probably left-handed now, impressing all of his heavenly fans with his perfect and capable southpaw. Turner loved people like no one else could. He was a kind older brother, loving and encouraging his younger sister and brother, and even occasionally sharing his favorite toys with them, like playing with Mario toys in the shade of the tree in their front yard. He cheered them on as they learned and grew, from first steps to Alice's ballet recitals to helping Weston get up in the morning, and he surely will continue to support them from above. Turner's grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins were some of his favorite people, and he loved to swim (always with goggles), play games, eat, talk, and celebrate special days with them. He loved his teachers and therapists, especially Miss Uptegrove, and he was a loyal and fun friend. Turner especially loved his mom and dad. Whether it was watching Boise State football with dad, or cooking with mom, Turner was happy to be doing it with them. Turner is survived by his parents, James and Chelsea Briner, younger sister Alice, and younger brother Weston, four loving grandparents, lots of aunts and uncles, and a cadre of cousins who will forever carry Turner and his laughter and bright smiles in their hearts. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Natalie West, who doubtless welcomed him home with loving arms. Friends are welcome to attend a viewing on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 6pm to 8pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 112 Randolph Street, Melba, ID 83641.
