Eric Smith Hauser

Eric Smith Hauser December 12, 1997 - August 5, 2019 Our Precious Son, a Loving Brother and Loyal Friend passed away on August 5, 2019 due to injuries sustained in an accident. Eric was born December 12, 1997 in Caldwell, Idaho to Dan and Gena Hauser. He was the third child of four, and the oldest son. Eric loved the outdoors and playing in the sun. He loved to hunt, ride motorbikes and four wheelers, go shooting and hiking, and was an avid fisherman. He often hiked to high mountain lakes with his dad to fish. He found his love for climbing trees at age four, and continued to climb them to the last day. Eric had a great voice, and was often caught singing in the shower. He was in the choir at school. Eric loved his family and friends. He had a kind heart full of love and compassion for his family, and was a loyal friend to all who knew him. He was always looking for ways to serve, and found joy in quietly going about serving others. Eric was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Eric was an Eagle Scout. As a Cub Scout he earned his Faith in God Award and his Arrow of Light. He continued to advance and earned his Duty to God, Varsity Scout Letter, The Denali Award, his Eagle Scout rank, and one Palm. He used his knowledge from Scouts in his daily life, and was always loving and serving those around him. He often said, "I learned in Scouts." Eric loved working with wood, and could often be found in his dad's wood shop. At the age of 16 he began working for Gary Wangsgard at Valley Custom Cabinets, and continued to work with Gary throughout his high school years. At age 19, Eric started his own business, "Smoky Mountain Firewood," and had plans to expand this fall with his dad. He was also employed at Done-Rite Tree Services in Boise, where he continued to climb trees. Eric was always looking forward--never back. Whatever was behind him was no longer of interest, but what lay ahead was an adventure waiting to happen. He was a free spirit, a complex thinker, and had strong opinions. From the time he was born he was on the move, climbing higher and higher, moving faster and faster, and keeping everyone around him laughing. He reached his goal of leaving his mark on the world; not in the sand to be washed away, but in our hearts to be forever remembered. The Hauser family would like to thank everyone who touched Eric's life. You all brought great joy to him, and have been talked about often. Eric is survived by his loving family: Dan and Gena Hauser of Caldwell; sisters Annalen (Jon) Crossley of Meridian and Chrissy (Victor) Carretero of Nampa; and his brother Cordon Hauser of Caldwell; also, his grandparents: Melvin and Charlotte Gifford of New Plymouth, and Jay and Dian Hauser of Hagerman; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins. He was preceded in death by his precious and loving aunt, Kara Coon Hauser. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Middleton Stake Center at 23644 Old Hwy 30, Caldwell. A viewing will be held Friday, August 9, from 6-8 p.m., and again Saturday morning from 10:00 -10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Eric will be laid to rest in the Middleton Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel in Nampa
