Josue D Gonzalez

Surrounded by his loving family, Josue Daniel Gonzalez, 28, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 13, 2023. Born on August 31,1994, to Fernando and Rosa Gonzalez, Josh's life is a shining testament to faith, love, devotion, and community. His love story with his wife, Grace Jean, began at Bethel Nazarene when they were just 12-years-old. It was a connection so profound that at 14, Josh confided in his father, Fernando, that he wanted to marry Grace. Though told "you're too young, son," Josh's determination knew no bounds. With his heart set on Grace, he asked his best friend to be his girlfriend on February 18th, 2012. Fueled by an unwavering commitment to his first and only love, Josh asked Grace to be his wife on December 20th, 2014 and on October 3rd, 2015, the two became one. They shared a beautiful journey that was guided by their faith in God and filled with love notes, late night laughs, and drives to the lake. Josh truly took care of Grace in every way a husband can. He set an example of what true love looks like to all of those blessed to call him a friend. In 2016, Josh and Grace's prayers were answered with the arrival of their first daughter Kezia Eden Gonzalez, who quickly became "Daddy's Girl." Their joy (and their laughter) multiplied with the birth of Esther Selah Gonzalez in 2019, and their family became whole in 2022 when they welcomed their son Joshua Zion Gonzalez. Each child brought more joy and purpose to Josh's life. He was a devoted and fun-loving father who cherished every moment he spent with his children, from ice cream dates and playing games at Pojos, to fishing trips, movie nights, and bedtime prayer. Josh had a heart so full of love that it extended far beyond his family and into the community. His leadership of the youth ministry at the Christian Faith Center (CFC) in Nampa was more than a role--it was a calling. He invested his heart and soul into shepherding hundreds of teenagers throughout the treasure valley, displaying a selfless dedication to guiding Nampa's youth toward a relationship with God. In his battle with stage 4 cancer, Josh's courage, resilience, and unyielding faith stood as a beacon of hope to all who knew him. The journey was trying, yet Josh and Grace faced it with a heart full of gratitude and hands uplifted in prayer. Though he bravely fought this battle on earth, God's loving plan was to heal him in a way we could not - by bringing him home to heaven, where pain has no dominion, and love never ends. He leaves behind his best friend and devoted wife, Grace Jean Gonzalez; his precious children, Kezia, Esther, and Joshua Zion; his loving parents, Fernando Gonzalez and Rosa Gonzalez, and his little brother Jeremy Gonzalez, whom Josh had the amazing privilege to baptize the morning of June 28, 2020. A celebration of Josh's life, filled with memories, love, and faith, will be held at Marist Hall on August 31, 2023, at 6:00 pm. We find solace in knowing that Josh's faith has become sight, and he now rests in perfect healing in the loving arms of his Savior. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - II Timothy 4:7 In our hearts, Josh's love and legacy will forever remain, a gentle reminder of a life well-lived and a faith well-kept. "Well done, my good and faithful servant!' - Matthew 25:23
