Lance Kent Johnson, born 26 July 1992, passed away on the 14 February 2015 at the age of 22. He was born in Missoula, Montana, but enjoyed the larger portion of his life growing up in Idaho. He spent most of his educational years attending school in Parma, Idaho, where he eventually graduated from high school in May 2011. Lance was always a hard worker. This made him his Father's go to man for the toughest, most difficult jobs. He had a raw, brute strength that made him a favorite in sports and any task he put his mind to. His natural and extreme athleticism made him excel in any sport he participated in. In his middle school years, he juggled basketball, wrestling, football, track, and even baseball each year, while keeping up with, and excelling in, extracurricular activities such as the Boy Scouts of America, choir, playing the trombone in band, and playing piano. As much as he would have loved to continue all of these sports and activities; he could only choose a few of these to participate in high school. Eventually he settled with football, wrestling, and track as his primary sports while continuing Boy Scouts, choir, piano, and even picking up Future Farmers of America, and drama. He earned his rank of Eagle Scout early on in high school, and traveled with his choir to perform in other states. During wrestling his Sophomore year, which was going to be his last, he took second place at the state tournament. He was never one to accept defeat, so he waited for the rematch. At the first tournament of his Junior year, he triumphantly defeated the state champion. Satisfied, he dropped wrestling and put his sports focus on football and track. While playing varsity football for Parma High School, Lance was the star running back from his Sophomore year until he graduated, and was considered one of the best players in the state. He would often be seen playing offense, defense, and special teams. After high school Lance enlisted in the Army reserves as a combat engineer. He graduated OSUT with high marks, and went back to working in the civilian world. Although he wouldn't have admitted to it, Lance was born with the natural qualities of a great leader, and inspired many people by his actions in life. Lance is survived by his parents, Kent and Shari Johnson, of Parma, Idaho; six brothers and their families: Kevrin and Colleen, of Durham, NC; Kaylan and Natalie, of Payson, UT; Karlin and Sonya, of Homedale, ID; Kyler and Caitlin, of Orem, Utah; Layne of Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Logan, of Boise, ID.
