Creek Tameron Walker

Creek Tameron Walker 11/10/1977-9/3/2022 Grit and Guts We know you're just one man, But against the storms you'll stand. Through the droughts, the blizzards and the stock market dips, When a whole herd of calves dies and then your heart rips. But we don't get to see that battle that you're waging. The torrents and riptides and currents that are raging. Because you just look at us, smile and say "it's all OK!" While deep down not knowing if you'll live to see another day. You can't give in, and you can't give up this life is all you've known; And the cows and the crops and the kids are all things that you have grown. And every single one of them at times made you shake your head. But at the end of the day, whether it be water food or love, each ended up fed. But sometimes what fed them strained your spirit and your soul. But looking on when they succeed each time has make you whole. Your surface is far from smooth. like sandpaper with 60 grit. And then inside she knows there's some thats smooth as silk, for just a little bit. The world may not see you for all the things you are. Sometimes we don't either and it's a bridge too far. You're afraid you'll worry us, or that the hero you won't be. But what you don't realize is the man that we all see. The one that's fought for every step, for every grain of sand; For every piece of dirt, and little hoof and Tiny outstretched hand. We know your ways may not always make sense. But one things for sure: You don't ever ride the fence. With you your word is bond and people know just where they stand. You can be rough and tumble, but also the first to lend a hand. To show someone what they're worth, and give a hand up, not hand out. When that other guys backs against the ropes and thinks he's lost his last bout You may jump in there and scream and yell and to the outside it looks cruel. But heat and fire are the things that forge a tool. And you, my sweet dear man, Have been forged in many a fire. And then at the last, you come out a winner when it's right down to the wire. One thing your boys will see if they learn not one more item: No matter how big your goliath is, you must always fight him So kids, when you look at this rough, tough farmer man and don't quite know what you see, Just shake your head smile and laugh and say "Someday I hope that's me". - By Colleen Walker December 2021
