Terah Lin Young

Terah Lin Young was born on November 22, 1976 to Tony and Linda Young. She is the oldest of seven children. Terah attended Sunny Ridge Elementary School, South Junior High, and graduated from Nampa High School in 1995. She attended Boise State University where she graduated in Health Promotion with an emphasis in Kinesiology. She went on to attend the University of Utah Physician Assistant School and graduated in 2004. Terah's professional career allowed her to live in Lexington, Charlotte, Boise, Deer Lodge, Martha's Vineyard, and Phoenix where she worked in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Indian Health, Preventative Medicine, and Tele Med. She loved her profession because when she was at work she was able to forget herself and help others. Terah has many talents and "loves" which she shared with everyone. She started playing the fiddle and piano in elementary school and became quite accomplished at both. At a young age she was competing in fiddle competitions and performed at the Inaugural Gala for George H.W. Bush. Throughout her life it wasn't uncommon for Terah to come home from school or work and pound out a few songs on the piano just to relieve stress from a hard day. Terah taught herself how to crochet and shared her talent with many in baby gifts of blankets, burps, and socks. She loved to read and was always on the hunt for a good book. Her favorite place to read was by the water...on the beach or by the pool. Terah loved to shop and was always on the lookout for a great deal. One of Terah's greatest passions was her love of Travel. Her travels took her to 48 of 50 States, Mexico, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Austria, Budapest, Bali, and Australia. She was always planning the next adventure whether it was a vacation or a party. Terah's friends, family, and faith, were the most important things to her. Friendship had no boundaries. Everywhere she went she found a new friend and someone whose life she could touch. She also never missed an opportunity to meet up with friends whether she was in their town or they were in hers, and she always stayed in contact through social media. Terah loved her family and cherished every moment she was with them. Her nieces and nephews were the sunshine of her life and she loved them as her own. She wasn't blessed with children, but her motherly influence impacted the lives of every child around her. Terah's testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her Savior sustained her and was the foundation of her life. She shared this testimony everywhere she went and in everything she did. Terah strived to be like Him and to know Him so she was prepared to meet Him. She is now in His loving embrace. Terah is survived by her parents, Tony and Linda Young; siblings Tyler (Danielle) Young, Tenielle (Jory) Humphreys, Troy (Becky) Young, Tristen (Mitch) Rasmussen, Tony (Erin) Young, and Tanner (Kayla) Young; 13 nieces and nephews Kadyn Y., Gavin Y., Aidree R., Bridger Y., Beckett Y., Karston Y., Bridget R., Stella Y., Kaeson Y., Graham Y., Klara Y., Carter R., and Kenadee Y.; adopted grandmother, Betty Johnson. She is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Read and Kaye Young, Ralph and Gladys Swensen, Jeanne Swensen, and Randy Johnson; Many "Teal" sisters. Terah was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer on June 04, 2013. She passed away March 18, 2019 at her childhood home in Nampa, Idaho, surrounded by her family. She didn't lose the battle, she just finished the race. The Young family would like to thank all of Terah's doctors and nurses at St. Lukes/MISTI who fought this fight with her for almost six years...particularly Dr. Dan Zuckerman, Dr. Amy Cooper, and Nurse Pat. We also want to thank the Angels who flew her safely to Idaho to be with her family. Finally we would like to thank all of our extended family and many friends who became "Terah's Army"! We will miss her, we love her, and we know that we will be with her again someday. In lieu of flowers you may donate to Terah's favorite foundation, Colleen's Dream, to fund research for early detection testing for ovarian cancer. Please donate here: colleensdream.org/donation/ Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 7809 Deer Flat Rd in Nampa.
