.Our dear sister LaMar Castaneda passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at the age of 50 in Nampa, Idaho. LaMar was born on July 5, 1972, daughter of Jesse Castaneda and Babe Rose (Meza) in Salinas, California.She had many friends and colleagues and was a well-loved member of the medical community in Salinas, California. LaMar was preceded in death by her father Jesse Castaneda and mother Babe Rose (Meza); her brother Anthony Castaneda. She is survived by her sister Becky Meza; brother Jesse Castaneda Jr; nieces and nephews: Aaron Meza (Aeriel and Esme), Britney Meza-Turner (Lindsey), Jesse Castaneda III (Keila), Alexis Jasso (Josue), Andrew Castaneda, Andrea Castaneda (Mikayla), Joshua Castaneda, Olivia Tabitha Smith (Tim); and many other family members who loved her dearly.After graduating from North Salinas High School in 1990, LaMar went on to get her Associates Degree in Nursing at Hartnell Community College with High Honors and graduated "Cum Laude'' in 2003. She went on to further her education with a Bachelors in The Science of Nursing at California State Domingues Hills in 2010, ranking in the upper 20th percentile of her class. Her dedication and love of Nursing led her to become a Clinical Nurse Instructor from 2010-2012. She completed her education and started her career at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse.LaMar enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Her many adventures led her abroad and state side to many beautiful destinations including Turks & Caicos, Mexico, various National Parks, and Hawaii (three times in one year!). She was very active and enjoyed snowboarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, camping, and hiking among many other things.LaMar was always such a loving and compassionate woman. She shared the same passion and love with her community of friends, family, professionals, and acquaintances spanning across the globe.
