Thomas E. Shane Kirkham of Kuna, Idaho, formerly of Saint Anthony, Idaho, passed away at the age of 49 on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in Meridian, Idaho. Shane was born on April 4, 1972, in Saint Anthony, Idaho to parents James Kirkham and Genavieve Kirkham. On September 21, 1990, he was married to Angela Mortensen, now Ammerman, and from that union were born Justin Kirkham and Gwen Kirkham. During their marriage, Shane was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, Okinawa, Japan, where his first two children were born, and Mountain Home, Idaho, as part of his service in the United States Air Force. After his service, he and his family moved to Boise, Idaho, where he entered the information technology field as an engineer. Out of his relationship with Michelle Gill, his third child, Zachery Kirkham, was born on November 4, 2008. On January 8, 2010, Shane was married to Wendy Alexandre. From that union came stepchildren Hannah Kirkpatrick, Wesley Butler, and Sandra Kirkpatrick and granddaughter Lily Henricksen. Shane and Wendy built their home in Kuna, Idaho, where they lived together for 13 years, hosting barbecues, holding family and friend events, and raising six children and countless dogs. Shane worked in several IT positions throughout his career, ending with several years under his belt at the J.R. Simplot Company in downtown Boise, where he built lasting relationships with co-workers and colleagues as part of the SPLAT team. Shane also built a successful IT company in the form of ICCS, where he serviced local businesses across the Treasure Valley for more than 20 years. He spent his free time completing quests in RPG video games, serving as the dungeon master for innumerable Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, quoting science fiction films in every accent imaginable, taking camping trips in the mountains of Idaho, hitting the road on his motorcycle for yearly rides, and hitting up drive-throughs in his Jeep for cheeseburgers with his children and dogs alike. He and Wendy traveled across the globe together on many adventures. Shane was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather Alphea and Bud Whitmore; his uncle Albert Whitmore, his uncle Ricky Whitmore; his aunt Geneva Whitmore; his grandmother and grandfather Velma and Delbert Kirkham; and his Aunt Sherry Abegglen. He leaves behind his wife, Wendy Alexandre; his mother and father Genavieve and Kim Kirkham; brother Shaun Kirkham; sisters-in-law: Emily Kirkham, Courtney Wolfe and Rebecca Shipton; brother-in-law Jeff Shipton; children: Justin Kirkham, Gwen Kirkham, and Zachery Kirkham; stepchildren: Hannah Kirkpatrick, Wesley Butler, and Sandra Kirkpatrick; nieces Kaelyn and Brooklyn Kirkham, Zoe Garrison, and Layla Wolfe; nephew Gage Garrison; and granddaughter Lily Henricksen. Memorial services for Shane will be held this coming Saturday, October 2, at 2 p.m. at Swan Falls Dam Park (20 miles south of Kuna, Idaho). Guests are asked to wear their best geek or patriotic t -shirt -- or whatever they are most comfortable in. The short service will be followed by a procession of motorcycles, POW-MIA volunteers, Jeep club members, and the rest of his crew to Shane and Wendy's home in Kuna, where there will be food, a slideshow of photos from Shane's life, and plenty of opportunities to share stories and memories of Shane. In lieu of flowers, Shane's family has asked instead for direct donations to Shane's favorite charity, Boise POW-MIA.
