Curtis Lanier Koeppel

Curtis Lanier Koeppel, 44, of Nampa died October 27, 2014 of a massive heart attack. He was born October 3, 1970 in Nampa to Edward Lanier and Elaine Claire Jacobsen Koeppel. He grew up living in many different states as his father's work kept them moving. He has two brothers, Warren (wife Jenny and children Zach, Jacob and Laura) and Casey (wife Athena, children Connor and Cole). In his younger years, Curtis was able to go to Mexico a few summers to spend time with his uncle John and aunt Ellen. He loved going there and spending time playing with the cousins. Curtis graduated from Corona High School in California in 1987. He joined the Navy soon after and served on the USS Lincoln for four years. He served during Desert Storm. He loved serving his county. Curtis married Nina Ann Thompson on October 11, 2002. Nina brought to this union three children from a previous marriage: Shantell M. (Casey) Maloney, (and their daughter Melody), Adam Wesley Hoveland and Shianne Hoveland. They were sealed in the LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Curtis and Nina had a baby girl born to this union on January 9, 2004, Angelina Chirstine Koeppel. She was his joy, happiness and the light of his life. Curtis worked at various jobs over the years. Before having to retire because of health challenges, he worked at WDS Global (Xerox) in Boise. He was a call center manager. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, November 3 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3007 Sunnyridge Road, Nampa. A viewing will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 2 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa and at the church from 11:30 to 12:15 p.m. Monday prior to the services.
