Steven George Harris

Steven George Harris, 45, of Battle Mountain, Nevada (formerly of Melba) passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at a Reno, NV hospital due to injuries sustained in an accident. Steven was born November 12, 1968 in Nampa to Robert Dean and Joann Harris. He has two sisters and two brothers: Janet Ward of Moses Lake, WA, Marlene Harris of Nampa, Glen Harris of Nampa and Don Harris of Elko, NV. Steven spent his childhood in Melba and graduated from Melba High School in 1987. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New Jersey Morristown Mission. He met the love of his life Angie Howland in 2008 and they were happily married in 2011. They enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. He and Angie shared many wonderful memories at Lake Tahoe. Steve found fulfillment in woodworking and was a skilled craftsman making numerous elegant tables, cabinets and stools. He enjoyed playing family card games. He had a wonderful generous heart and his selfless desire to serve others will be forever missed by his wife, family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, at the Melba First Ward LDS Chapel, 112 Randolph Ave in Melba. A viewing will be held at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300.
