Announcement: Shawna Marie True Carpender, born April 21, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah, died March 30, 2016 in Boise, Idaho. Her parents were Richard and Virgene True. Married Brian Carpender on December 27, 1997. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at the LDS chapel located at 5751 S. Five Mile Road in Boise. A viewing will be held from 11:00 to 12:15 p.m. prior to the services. Continuation: Survived by her daughter Holly Redmon (Allison). Husband Brian Carpender. Siblings - Dan True (Kelli), Stephanie Chavez (Bryan), Jacque Wardle (Mike), Jennifer Shakespear (Brett) and Jonathan True (Tanya). She was treated so well at the Davita Dialysis facility and by the doctors, nurses and medical staff at St. Al's in Boise. Many hours were spent ensuring Shawna had the best medical care possible. Shawna had a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint faith and readily accepted challenges with the many health problems that she had throughout her life. She grew up in Salt Lake City and after graduation from high school attended BYU. Her early years were of a typical child, running, jumping and playing, always with her white hair flowing behind her. She was loved by all who knew her and her contagious smile was always the highlight of all who came in contact with her. She grew up always wanting to help people and was much in demand for baby sitting and cleaning homes. Animals were drawn to her like a magnet as she loved and cared greatly for their welfare. There always seemed to be dogs, cats and birds around her home. She would have been "right at home" 100 years ago on a farm taking care of all the animals. One of her loves was doing research for genealogy. She spent many hours going to archives, talking to people and later, on the internet when it became available Her great love and support of her life was her husband Brian. He endured much in taking care of her during the last few years of her life. They always relied on the Lord to help get them through the many tough times and were so blessed.
